Health & Safety

Ensuring the safety and security of our passengers and employees, and helping to build safer local communities is an absolute priority for us.

We have invested in the latest security technology for our vehicles and stations and we ensure that our employees are fully trained for the security situations they may encounter.

We believe that taking a collaborative approach, where we work closely with community partners such as the police, local authorities and schools, is the most effective way to create a safer working environment.

Secure Bus Depots & Stations

It is our aim to make our new bus depot a welcoming and safe environment. Safety standards are recognised through the Secure Bus/Coach Stations Scheme that we hope to implement together with the Malta Transport Authority and local Police Authorities.

Paramount Coaches also knows where all of its coaches are at all times, through GPS mup-to-the minute-stats for logistical and safety purposes.

It is the duty of all our operating companies and partners to ensure that all processes and systems of work are designed to take account of health and safety requirements and are properly managed at all times.

Full details of the organisation and arrangements for health and safety and how these are to apply at each operating location, will be set out in each of our local policy documents, the responsibility for which rests with the Managing Director at each operating company be it our own or which we sub-contract.

Each employee will be given such information, instruction and training as is necessary to enable the safe performance of work activities.

Adequate facilities and arrangements will be maintained to enable employees and their representatives to raise concerns about matters of health and safety.

Every employee must co-operate to enable the Paramount Coaches and its operating companies to comply with all statutory duties. While having the absolute support of the operating company, successful implementation of this Policy requires total commitment from all levels of employee.

Each individual has a legal obligation to take reasonable care for his or her own health and safety and for the safety of other people who may be affected by their acts or omissions also. At Paramount Coaches we also encourage and expect all employees to work with the Group in meeting both its own objectives and the law.

Competent people will be appointed to assist us in meeting our statutory duties including, where appropriate, specialists from outside of the organisation.

Our policies will be regularly monitored and the operating companies subjected to independent audit to ensure that the objectives are achieved.

There will be, as a minimum, annual reviews and if necessary such policies will be revised in the event of legislative or organisational changes.
